Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Behavioral Autism Therapies, LLC (B.A.T.).
Behavior Therapist
This was a group interview with two ladies who asked questions and discussed the role. There were about 5 questions asked in total. The main focus was on whether candidates had previous experience working with children, whether they had special needs or not. The base pay is $18/hour, with potential increases to the $20s for RBT certification or a Master's in Education with an ABA focus. Transportation is required for travel to client homes, with some mileage reimbursement provided, but no coverage for car maintenance. This place is not recommended due to the cost of further education and lack of comprehensive reimbursement.
- Do you have your own car and prior experience working with children?
- Do you have a car?
- Have you worked with children before?
Therapist
It was a group interview in a medium-size office with a Human Resources manager in an Ontario office center. They asked us questions individually and proceeded with scenarios and about our backgrounds. The interview was brief and not too difficult. It was a great first experience outside of college.
- How do you feel about working with children?
- What is your educational background?
- Could you tell us about your past experiences?
Behavior Therapist
We had a group interview where we sat with an HR person. They talked about the company's goals and gave us details about the job. We were asked questions about our education and experience, plus other questions relevant to the role.
- Could you tell me where you obtained your degree?
- Do you have prior experience working with children, particularly those with special needs?
- What motivates your interest in this specific role?
Behavioral Therapist
The interview process was pretty straightforward and I'd say it was easy. It's a group interview setting. They tend to ask pretty basic questions. They're really open to hiring people with just a bachelor's degree, and experience with kids isn't a strict requirement.
- Do you have previous experience working with children who have special needs?
