After applying, I got an email asking for a phone interview to see if I qualified for an in-person one. I picked a time from a link in the email for a recruiter to call me. The recruiter asked me about my resume experience and I got to talk about the qualifications I thought were important. The recruiter seemed interested and asked more questions about my answers. It was easy to talk to them and I felt comfortable. I was then offered an in-person interview at the location for a later date.

Had a phone interview that went well and then scheduled for an in-person interview. On the phone they asked personal questions and qualifications. But when I went to the interview with the manager she just started talking about the job without asking anything lasted like 10 minutes. Felt like she already had her pick and this was just a formality. Made me waste gas though.

You'll chat with the Regional Manager who'll ask some basic tile questions. They're more focused on your business background and the accounts you can bring. If you're switching from another tile or stone company, you'd better have some solid accounts lined up. If you're new to the biz, be ready to do whatever they ask. Talk about major projects you've tackled or big industry names you've worked with. You can even invent names or hotels you've worked with to impress them. They don't have the means to verify your claims, so feel free to embellish a bit to make it sound impressive.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The interviewer didn't hit too many technical questions, but I've heard some managers do ask about tile knowledge.
  • Do you know the difference between porcelain, marble, travertine, granite, and slate?
