Brand Manager
The interview started with a 15-minute phone screen that ended up being a longer screen/interview. The person who screened me didn't seem to know the role well and just went through a list of questions. It would have been better if they understood the job better. I was often cut off when I tried to explain my answers, and they seemed annoyed. At the end, I asked if I could ask questions, but was told it wasn't the right time. It was a bad interview experience and didn't make a good first impression. After seeing employee reviews, I'm glad I wasn't asked back. Also, the job description said the salary was $73-125k, but they told me it's only $80k.
- Tell me about your experience with omnichannel marketing.
Manager
It was a long and kind of messy interview process. I had to wait a lot to see if people were free to chat. The employees were nice and really into their work. This interview style is great if you prefer talking things through in a more open way instead of a strict question and answer session.
- What's your motivation for wanting to join BEDGEAR?
Marketing Director
I went through about 4 rounds. First was HR, who asked typical interview questions. Then I met with the CEO's right-hand person. She asked mostly typical questions but took a couple of phone calls during the interview, which felt rude and made me feel unimportant. The last two interviews were with the CEO. He spent most of the time talking about himself and the company's success. He then asked me to do an assignment on marketing ideas I could bring to the table. Two weeks later, I presented my preliminary marketing ideas. Midway through, he brought in someone from the web team to listen. He then gave feedback on what he liked and didn't like, saying the brand is him. He said he needed more ideas and that I was a great fit but wanted another presentation. After more talk about himself and starting the company, I decided I wasn't the right candidate and withdrew my name. The CEO's ego seemed too big, and I didn't think I'd enjoy working there.
- Can you outline a marketing plan?
Project Manager
I had a recruiter call where they described the job and then interviewed me right then and there. It went well, so they invited me for an in-person interview at their main office. Once I got there, I met with HR who talked about the role and the company's history. After that, I got a tour of the place and met some of the team. Then, I went back to HR for my interview. The person I spoke with was nice and easy to talk to. They clearly explained what the job would be like and what they expected. They asked about my past experience as it related to the job. I felt good about how I did and felt welcomed by everyone.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences that have prepared you for this role?
