First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences.
Field Application Specialist
The interview was scheduled only with an email invite, without any communication. There was no follow-up after the first interview with the recruiter, even after more than a month, despite being told there would be a next step.
- Tell me about your previous experiences.
- What is your English level?
Application Specialist
It was a really drawn-out and disjointed process. I ended up speaking with 7 different people, ranging from HR to the team lead to potential coworkers. I found everyone to be quite friendly and willing to answer any questions I had, which I really liked. However, the whole thing took 2 months, and then there was another 2 months of silence. After all that, HR called to let me know they decided to go with an internal candidate.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience, and if you know our products?
- Could you walk me through your experience and let me know if you're familiar with our products?
- What's your background, experience, and knowledge of our products?
Sales Associate
The interview process included many situational questions, like how you handle conflict, respond to challenges, and talk about your proudest moment or job changes over the years. There were also practice sales and Challenger sales scenarios to work through.
- Can you share an instance where you had a conflict with a coworker and how you resolved it?
- How do you typically manage disagreements with others?
- When faced with difficulties, how do you approach them?
Applications Engineer
The process ended before it really began. I waited over a week for a phone interview, and after they asked two questions about my qualifications, they told me that the manager had changed the job requirements in the past week. The recruiter then said I should expect a call back after they check with the hiring manager. The recruiter did call back to say I was not qualified, even though they reached out to me for an interview in the first place; this is very unprofessional. My advice to the hiring team is to ensure you are actually interested in candidates before reaching out to schedule interviews.
- Can you tell me about your qualifications for this role?
