First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bechtel.
Process Engineer
It was overall easy, with basic process questions. They were looking for an understanding in all key areas of process, and also interdisciplinary knowledge. Knowledge of simulation and flare is a plus. Some practical application examples would have been helpful. Overall, it was an easy process.
- Could you explain pump design and NPSH calculation?
- Tell me about your understanding of process fundamentals.
- How would you describe your interdisciplinary knowledge?
Process Engineer
The interview process was very long, lasting over 45 minutes. It included HR questions, behavioral questions, and questions about my resume. There were also typical on-the-spot questions. I felt it was a waste of time because after waiting 6 months for a rejection, I was immediately rejected from applying to their jobs. I believe this company is racist. My background was perfect, and even the interviewer agreed, but I wasn't selected because of my Asian race.
- How do you handle situations where multiple projects require your attention simultaneously?
Process Engineer
The interview process involved a single session where I presented before a panel of three interviewers. This session was split equally between technical discussions and situational questions. They inquired about my previous work experiences and my approaches to handling various scenarios. The company seems to prioritize candidates who are outgoing and possess strong communication skills, especially when interacting with clients.
- Which manufacturing processes do you have experience with?
