So, the interview process had three parts to it. First up was an HR interview, they wanted to see if I'd be a good fit culturally and check my general qualifications. Then, there was a technical interview, that was to test my expertise. Finally, we had a group discussion, which was meant to see how I handle problem-solving and teamwork.

Got a call two weeks after applying online and set up a phone interview. Even though the phone interview wasn't great, they used impolite language, I decided to give them another chance and went for a site visit. When I met the hiring manager, he told me the job I applied for and was interviewed for wasn't the actual role they were hiring for, which was concerning. The rest of the interview felt like a waste of time. One of the future managers tried to act like he knew everything or wanted me to admit I knew nothing. I suspect he was insecure or not very skilled and was trying to establish himself as the future lead. The interview with this person was unpleasant, both on the phone and during the site visit. The rest of the technical team were professional and polite, the difference was noticeable quickly. You could also sense nepotism in that group. I'd suggest Bechtel's higher management look into their hiring processes by using undercover applicants, as the unprofessional behavior of some individuals is hurting Bechtel's reputation.
