First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bechtel.
Electrical Engineer
The interview felt more like a casual chat than a formal assessment. It was a single in-person behavioral interview where they asked basic questions. Before meeting the interviewer, my resume had already been thoroughly reviewed by about three different people, including some engineers and HR staff. Be prepared to answer questions based on your resume.
- What would you say is your greatest weakness?
Electrical Engineer
So, first there was a written test with 30 MCQs that were pretty easy to medium difficulty. Then we had a GD, just a general topic and discussion. After that, a technical interview focusing on my resume and projects, which was also easy to medium depending on the specific area.
- Can you tell me about your resume and projects, and what are your future plans?
- Do you have any technical questions related to Power Systems, MATLAB, or Electrical Machines?
Electrical Design Engineer
The hiring process at Bechtel Corp. began with a PPT presentation, followed by a written test (technical and aptitude) that was pen-paper based. Most students in EE/EEE from DTU (DCE) passed the written test. After that, a group discussion (GD) was held, and only a few people were eliminated. In total, 13 candidates proceeded to the technical interviews. The interviews seemed to be heavily based on academic percentages, particularly in Electrical Engineering. Around 5-6 candidates were shortlisted for the HR interview, and apparently, they were the top 5 in terms of percentage. The final results are still pending.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Could you tell us about your family background?
- Why did you choose core engineering over IT service companies?
