After I applied, the internal recruiter reached out and we did a quick phone chat. Then, I had another 30-minute phone call with a team engineer. After that, I got a homework assignment. The engineer mentioned it should take about two hours, but it ended up taking me a full day. I sent it back, and within a couple of days, they invited me for an on-site interview. The on-site lasted about 3 hours and included conversations with three engineers, the architect, and the project manager. The project manager focused on behavioral questions, while the engineers asked about the homework and my previous work. There were also some technical questions related to the context, but no whiteboarding was involved. I sent a follow-up after the on-site, but the recruiter seems to have gone silent, which is quite frustrating given the time I invested.

I had four rounds of interviews, and after the third round, there was a project involved. Everyone I spoke with was super friendly and asked insightful questions to get to know me. It seemed like they really wanted to find someone who was not only good at the job but also a great fit personality-wise. They told me after the project submission that it was down to me and one other person. Following the fourth interview, they decided to go with the other candidate because she had more direct experience with a competitor. I really enjoyed the whole process, though.

I applied online and then HR reached out wanting to set up a phone interview. It was a 30 min phone chat with an HR person who asked me to go over my resume, then asked about my salary expectations, and then told me about the benefits. He took notes for the product marketing manager. If I passed this first phone screen, there would have been at least 2 more rounds. I got rejected 2 days after the phone screen.

I got reached out to by a recruiter and scheduled an interview. Next, there were a few more in-depth rounds, which included a design test. After a few rounds, I was told I made it to one of the final stages, and to prepare a walkthrough of a design project. A week went by and I heard nothing. I reached out, and the recruiter told me that they decided to move forward with other candidates. It was disappointing, but I guess I dodged a bullet.
