First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beauty Industry Group.
Warehouse Manager
The interview process at Beauty Industry Group was impressive and thorough. It included interviews with HR, the Supply Chain Manager, and then the COO. I was particularly impressed with their industry knowledge and thoughtfulness towards someone new to it.
- How do you handle conflict resolution?
Social Media and Influencer Manager
I had a quick 20-minute chat with the recruiter to see if I was a good fit. They immediately advanced me, and later that same week, I had a 30-minute virtual meeting with the marketing director. I really liked talking with the marketing director and felt the meeting went well. They then moved me forward to a project, which I'm not the biggest fan of because it's unpaid work and takes up a lot of time. However, I decided to go for it since I enjoyed my previous conversation with the hiring manager. I got the project on a Friday and had until Wednesday EOD to submit it. I ended up sending it in on Tuesday afternoon, a day early. On Wednesday morning, I got an automated rejection email. I was surprised since I had just submitted the project and figured they wouldn't have had enough time to review it. I have a Chrome extension that tells me if people open my emails, and my project submission email hadn't even been read yet. This made me question why I was rejected, so I followed up with the recruiter to confirm. They said they'd check with the hiring manager and get back to me. I never heard back, even after following up twice more. It's incredibly frustrating to invest time in a project and then get no feedback or updates.
- Can you tell me about successful projects you've managed before?
- Describe your management style.
- What's your approach to developing social media and influencer strategies?
Site Merchandiser Specialist
It was a quick video call. The interviewer was friendly and asked some general questions about my background. The conversation went well and nothing too challenging came up. I was asked about my salary expectations, and I believe this might be why I didn't get an offer, as my expectations were higher than what the listed salary for the role offers, which I found to be very low.
- Regarding your experience, do you have expertise with Shopify and Matrixify?
Graphic Designer
I had an hour-long chat with the Marketing Director, which felt pretty good. After that, they gave me an assignment with a deadline, and I ended up having to do it on my vacation. I got it in on time. They didn't get back to me until I followed up. They said they were swamped and would let me know later. I never heard from them again. It was a bummer because I spent a lot of hours on the assignment, which was already a big, complicated thing.
- Can you describe your creative process?
