First, there was a quick 15-20 min video interview where they asked what inspires you to pursue this role. You could re record and even have notes displayed while giving the interview. After which they will take 1-2 weeks to go through the interview and get back to you.

It was a really creative interview process where I had to make a PowerPoint presentation that was like a live resume, using a Beats template. This let me highlight things that normally wouldn't come up and made it more interactive. Everything seemed to be going well, and an offer was being processed, but then Apple acquired the company and paused everything. The position was never reopened, which felt like an unintentional bait-and-switch.

The whole process was really long and drawn out. I had two recruiter calls and spoke with about six different people throughout the interviews. They asked regular questions, and I agree with others that they seemed to want less educated but more experienced people, maybe because they're a new company and are being extra careful with hiring. What I found unprofessional was the total lack of communication from the hiring manager and HR; you had to follow up yourself as a candidate. I did like their work environment though; it was pretty cool and seemed exciting. I was disappointed about not getting an offer, but looking back, I don't regret it that much.

Behavioral Presentation Case

I was contacted by Beats about a Director role in Marketing and had an initial interview with HR. Then I was supposed to interview with a peer the next week, but there was a month of silence from HR. Finally, I had a phone interview with the peer, which went well. They said the next step was an in-person with the hiring manager and team. Again, I heard nothing back from HR for over a month. After two months of no communication, I got an email to schedule an in-person interview. I was really annoyed by the unprofessionalism but went ahead with it. The interview involved being given an hour to create a presentation from a case study and then presenting it to the hiring manager and three colleagues. After that, I had individual interviews with three VPs/Directors. Things seemed to go well and I got praise. However, it's now been four months since that interview and I still haven't heard back from HR, despite multiple emails and calls. I just want to know how I did on the presentation for my own reference. This whole experience has been terrible and disrespectful of my time.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • I was given one hour to prepare a presentation based on a case study and then immediately present my strategy to a team of my potential co-workers.
