Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

This was the weirdest and most annoying interview process I've ever been through. I had about 5 or 6 interviews, including meeting with the whole executive team (CEO, CFO, CIO, General Counsel). They also sent me a case study prompt that I spent several hours on, but I never got to present it because they completely ghosted me without any explanation. I didn't even get a standard decline notice... they just went totally silent after I had invested over 10 hours in their process. The team's favorite buzzword during our conversations was 'Empathy,' and I find it funny now given how the opposite of empathetic or considerate their actions were.

Technical Presentation

I had a meeting with HR, then the hiring manager. After that, I was given an at-home assessment to complete. This was followed by a panel interview with the team. Then there was radio-silence for 3 weeks. I had to reach out to the original person I interviewed with to find out I wasn't selected, and they apologized for the poor candidate experience, noting it's not typical for their company. Apparently, this isn't the first time this has happened.

Behavioral Technical Group

It was one of the better interview processes I've ever had. It was straightforward, there was great communication, and they followed the timeline they explained in the first interview. My experience consisted of: 1st Interview: Hiring manager (Scheduled for 15-20 minutes but lasted almost 50) Had a good conversation about the company, and my experience and asked straightforward questions to get to know me. 2nd Interview: Hiring manager and Director. (Scheduled for 30 minutes but lasted around an hour) A deeper dive into my background, situational questions, and experience leading teams. This was a fantastic interview and felt very natural. 3rd Interview: Panel with 4 other managers across multiple departments. (Scheduled for 30 mins but again lasted nearly 1 hour) Every person in the video call was engaged, asked very good questions (GRITT interview). I left this interview very confident.

Behavioral Coding Technical

My interview with Beam was pretty neutral, not bad but not great. I applied on LinkedIn and heard back from an Engineering/Hiring Manager about a week later. We had an initial 30-minute call where they asked about my background. It was pretty casual and nice, without any annoying "tell me about a time when..." questions. Next was a take-home coding challenge, which I like better than live coding. The task was to build a backend for a box shipping system in Ruby or JS, following specific instructions. I found the format easy to work with once I started. They suggested a 6-hour limit, but I probably spent longer since they wanted functionality and unit tests.
