Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beacon Hospice.
Hospice Liaison
The interview was really easy. It consisted of two phone calls and then a single in-person meeting at their office. I felt the questions were appropriate for the role. I wouldn't change anything about how they conduct interviews.
- Can you walk me through your previous work experience?
Registered Nurse Case Manager
The interview process was thorough and prompt. They asked thought-provoking questions, making for an active and engaging interview. It was a smooth transition between questions, and they really made me think.
- What motivated your decision to enter hospice care?
Community Liaison
Had a phone screening with HR where they asked a lot about my preferred management style and some behavioral questions about influencing people. After that, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. It was a bummer that it wasn't in person since the hiring manager was local. The interview with the hiring manager was pretty standard; they seemed interested in my previous selling roles.
- Could you describe a situation where you persuaded someone to accept an idea they were initially against?
- What's your ideal management approach?
- Share an example of when you influenced others.
Area Vice President Hospice Outreach
I had face-to-face interviews with several team members, and then phone screens with leadership at corporate. We discussed how my background in Hospice sales would benefit my sales team b/c I have worked in the field for many years calling on the territory that I would be managing. My ability to be a field coach for my team would be a benefit to be able to teach techniques in presentation and approach. I like to be a positive presence for the team.
- Can you describe a situation where you encountered resistance from a physician who was not supportive of hospice care, and how you addressed it?
