Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beacon ABA Services.
Behavior Technician
It was a really thorough interview. They were positive, honest, and thoughtful. We talked about my experience and work life, and what the company would be like, what the compensation is, and opportunities for advancement.
- What do you anticipate being a challenge for you in this role?
Behavior Therapist
I applied online and got a call the next day. They just wanted to check my education level, if I had a driver's license, and my COVID vaccination status. After I confirmed, we set up a Zoom interview. The recruiter was really nice and friendly. It was cool that she actually does the job she's hiring for. She seemed to really like her job. She explained what a typical day and in-home session looks like. She also went over the company's mission and talked about the benefits and what the job really entails. Then, she offered me the chance to visit a family's home to see the services in action. The day after that, they gave me a verbal offer and told me what paperwork I'd need to get them (like the CORI form, driver's license, and vaccination proof).
- Why do you want to work here?
Behavior Therapist
I interviewed 8 years ago when I first came to the company. They were very quick to respond to my resume and application. I had an in-person interview in Milford and was called the following day to complete an observation in Northborough. I was able to observe a typical session with the Client and ask questions. They explained what trials looked like within the hour I was there and was able to observe trials. They called me shortly after.
- Are you familiar with PECS?
- Have you heard of ABA prior?
- Do you have any experience with children and what does that look like?
Associate Behavior Therapist
The interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked simple questions, mainly focusing on whether you have experience with children. Apparently, they hire most people even if you don't have direct experience. The advice given was to just be yourself and smile. They also conduct a TB test and an observational interview.
- Can you describe a hypothetical situation and how you would handle it?
