First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BCC Engineering.
Engineer
It was a really detailed and productive process, and I think proper preparation is key before the main interview. Overall, it felt like a great and somewhat tough interview designed to test your limits. I found it to be one of the most productive and beneficial interviews I've experienced, even if I wasn't necessarily expecting to get the job, which is different from how I felt about other interviews.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for our company?
Transportation Engineer
It was a pretty straightforward process. Started with some general behavioral questions from a panel of three engineers. They asked about my background, education, and what areas of transportation engineering I'm most interested in. The vibe was pretty relaxed, and the people seemed great. There were also some basic technical questions, nothing too advanced for a recent graduate. They also touched on salary expectations, so be ready to state what you're looking for.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
- What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?
Director
I found the job, applied, and in under two weeks, I had my first interview. Less than two weeks after that, I received the job offer. Decisions are usually made pretty quickly here. If they like your resume, they'll move fast. They're looking for people who are a good cultural fit and are knowledgeable.
- Tell me about a situation you faced and how you handled it. Also, what are your typical strengths and weaknesses?
Engineer
I had a Skype interview with two of the P.E.s. It was about half an hour and they asked a lot of questions. It wasn't too hard, but you really need to put your best foot forward. They asked me which area I liked better, transportation or environmental.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses in terms of classes?
- What salary do you think this role commands?
- Describe your internship experience.
