First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BBI Logistics.
Sales Associate
The interview process was very communicative, with clear expectations and salary transparency. It started with a phone screening. Then, I had an in-person meeting with the hiring team. The final step was meeting with a team director, and I was asked to create a prospect list.
- What led you to pursue a career in logistics?
- Can you explain why the industry you selected for your prospect list is a suitable choice for logistics services?
Recruiter
The interview process is 1.5 hours long and includes an office tour, a job shadow, and interviews with recruiting and leadership members. It's a thorough process where you get to meet many team members.
- What is your motivation and your 'why'?
Account Manager
This interview felt more like being lectured in the principal’s office than an actual interview. Having previous (very successful, at least to me) sales experience, I wanted to find a place where I would feel less like a number and more like a person, so the questions I asked during the interview eventually resulted in the folks who were interviewing me to continually drop bits of information about why this job would not be any fun (working weekends, successful people work from 8 am - 7 pm, they even mentioned what types of daily numbers you would need to keep hitting to get fired lol). They had the numbers game mentality from the get go, which I understand is obviously important in sales but quality can sometimes be more important than quantity. This was the most uncomfortable interview experience I’ve ever had. They went into it trying to see why I wouldn’t be a good fit instead of why I would be. I never heard back from them after the interview. Thankfully I dodged a bullet and am happily working exactly where I want to be now! TLDR - take your time looking for jobs if you can, find something that you truly believe in and want to do. That may be here, but not for me. Post college grads, don’t get sucked into the live-to-work over the work-to-live mentality. Your free time and your personal life are exceptionally valuable, and I did not get the impression that these things were very important to BBI.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for BBI?
Account Executive
Started with a phone interview, then an in-person one. It was a really good experience. The company seems great and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. I got to shadow someone in the role for 30 minutes, where they showed me the software and I listened to some sales calls. Then, a 30-minute chat with the recruiter and a sales manager, followed by another 30-minute interview with the hiring manager and an intern. The interviews felt more like chats than anything else. I was bummed to not get the offer in the end.
- Are you comfortable making 80-100 cold calls daily over the phone?
- What draws you to a career in sales and logistics?
