Technical Coding System Design

It was a 2-round process. Round 1 was a 1-hour technical interview with a recruiter from the contracting agency, covering 50% frontend and 50% backend. We talked about general engineering concepts, system scalability, and how to solve specific technical problems. Round 2 was with the Bayer team and consisted of two parts: first, a quick algorithmic coding task about merging adjacent timeboxes, and second, a system design exercise where I had to outline an event-driven architecture for bulk user account creation from a CSV.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Can you write an algorithm to merge adjacent timeboxes into continuous intervals?
  • Describe how you would design an event-driven system architecture for bulk user account creation from a CSV file.
  • What strategies would you employ to scale the event-driven architecture for a CSV file with millions of rows?

The process involved a manager who was asking rude questions. They also asked if a contractor role was acceptable, which wasn't mentioned in the job description. There was no coding involved, just questions about projects on my resume and a few technical questions about the Network.

Technical Coding Behavioral

A recruiter reached out for an intro call, which was friendly and informative. Then, someone else set up a 2-hour technical interview with technical questions and a live coding session. I passed, and about three weeks later, a recruiter contacted me with an offer, clarified details, and I accepted. I was supposed to get a contract but didn't hear back for over 3 weeks, leaving me unsure about the next steps. Because of the lack of communication, I took another job offer. When they finally contacted me, I let them know. They tried to get me to reconsider, but I was happy with my decision. Two weeks after that, another recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn for the same role.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Tell me about microfrontend architecture.
  • Can you answer some questions about web components?
  • Describe how you solved some challenges in the past.
