Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bay State Community Services.
Mental Health Clinician
The interview was brief and efficient. The interviewer was engaged, asked numerous questions, and made me feel confident in my responses. We also had opportunities for informal chats and humor throughout.
- What would you say are your strongest skills as a clinician?
Family Support Worker
I applied online and they got in touch. Then there was a phone interview and after that an in person interview. It was a pretty fast and average process overall. They did background checks and checked my references. I got the job offer via email.
- Were there questions to see if you qualify?
Therapeutic Specialist
The interview process was pretty straightforward. First, there was a quick phone call, then a chat with the program director, and then I met with the whole team, which was four people. The 1:1 interview took about 30-45 minutes. The director went over the job details and asked me questions while looking at my resume. The group interview was a bit tougher. The program director, two clinicians, and a peer mentor were there. They asked really specific questions about different scenarios. These questions can get a bit weird, so it's best to be direct and brief. The people at the company seemed really nice and smart.
- Imagine a family member is upset about the head clinician's work and wants to tell you. You need to keep the family's trust while also being professional about your coworker. How would you handle this?
Family Support Worker
they ask about scenarios and if you can work in a fast paced environment and how organized you are, be ready to talk abate any events you have run int he past because that is a huge part of the role
- Have you ever coordinated any events?
