First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bauer Gruppe.
Human Resources Associate
It was a pretty laid back interview, they started with some basic questions and then moved on to more technical HR related stuff. They also wanted to know about my college experience, like my academics, extracurriculars, and any leadership roles I had.
- Can you describe your college experience?
- What differentiates you from other candidates?
Senior Manager
It was great talking to the people there. They offer a fair salary, but don't expect unusual benefits like accommodation or a car, especially if you're an expat - that might be different for other roles or local hires. They're involved in big projects in Panama.
- Tell me about your technical knowledge of piling technologies.
- What's your experience and understanding of drilling technologies?
Software Support Engineer
The interview process includes three stages: First, an L1 Technical Round to check basic knowledge. Second, an L2 Technical Round to assess skills and role specifics. Lastly, an HR Round for salary talks.
- Could you give a brief self-introduction?
- What would you do if a user said Teams was crashing?
- Can you explain Bitlocker and how to turn it on?
Operations Manager
The interview didn't have a fixed format. It started with the interviewer saying it's good no recruiter was present as they could ask certain questions. Since it was just us, they went ahead. The focus was heavily on personal details. They asked indiscreet questions about wanting children, marital status, desire to marry, and the length of our current relationship. It was made clear that family planning is not compatible with the upcoming job. ('We need someone who is really available all the time'). My partner was repeatedly called 'Püppchen' ('Why don't you ask your little doll if she wants to go to China too?'). I was also asked about her desire for children, marriage plans, profession, and where she lives - more than that, how solid she estimates our relationship to be. Professional questions about my resume, career path, and projects I managed were asked sporadically but were apparently uninteresting. They emphasized the high workload for below-average pay ('You won't get rich here'). I received a verbal offer, and we set a start date and discussed the first day of work. After more than 7 months with shifts and delays, I received a rejection. Contact was then broken off.
- Do you have plans to have children soon, and what is your partner's stance on this?
