First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Basys.
Business Development Manager
Started with a call with a recruiter, they asked me some basic stuff about my background and I asked them basic questions about the role. They also talked about the company's plans for the next 5 years. Then I had a virtual interview with the hiring manager. They talked more about what the job involves and what they're looking for.
- What made you interested in our company?
- Can you share an instance where you resolved a problem with a client account? Describe your approach.
Customer Success Manager
I had a LinkedIn call, then two more interviews with the recruiter. They asked about scheduling another interview, and I gave them my very open availability. Then I ghosted. They followed up several times by phone and email, but I got nothing. I checked my spam, junk, and regular email. It's better to just send something showing you're not interested instead of leaving people hanging.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle conflict.
Business Analyst
Applied online and got an email the next day to set up a phone call. The whole thing took 2 days. I interviewed at BASYS Processing (Lenexa, KS). Recruiter sent an online assessment link, it wasn't very useful with just a couple of simple questions, not sure how they evaluate candidates based on that. Then there was a phone call with the recruiter. The recruiter didn't call at the scheduled time, I waited 15 minutes and then called her, the call was pretty straightforward. The recruiter mentioned on the call that she would set up a Skype call with the hiring manager. I sent a follow-up email with a thank you and my availability. The recruiter replied saying she'd get back to me, and about 30 minutes later I got an email from their generic address saying thank you for applying, and they've moved on with another candidate. Really unprofessional and not transparent!
- Can you introduce yourself?
Javascript Developer
It was a pretty fast and straightforward process, actually one of the better technical interviews I've had. They focused more on questions about how I organize my code and my best practices. I met with several managers, and they were all really nice!
- Can you explain how you structure your codebase?
- Do you feel confident challenging ideas or concepts?
- What are the advantages of your favorite framework compared to others?
