The interview was pretty laid-back, the underwriter was in shorts and asked stuff not really about the job, like my favorite hobby, which was sports. It was a long interview. The work vibe is quiet with younger people.

This is a HYPOCRITICAL hiring process. Bass Underwriters is a decent company, but they've created a complete "Double Standard" for themselves. A lot of the current employees had zero prior Insurance or even business experience when they were hired. Now, they are only looking to hire older folks with actual Insurance experience. It's a total JOKE! If a lot of the current staff had to re-apply without their Bass experience, they'd likely be rejected. I will say, many of the workers are good people, and their relationship with God is clearly important, which is great to see. But they've established a "Double Standard" by expecting new hires to bring more to the table than what most of them had when they were hired. It's unbelievable!

I applied online and HR got in touch a couple weeks later. We had a 30 minute phone chat and then an in person interview was arranged. That interview was about an hour. After the interview I took a skills finder test and spoke with one more person high up in the underwriting department. Then I was offered the job.
