Applied online, then had three phone interviews, followed by an in-house interview. They showed me around the warehouse during the in-house interview, which I felt was a waste of time because if I wasn't going to get the job, there was no point in seeing it. Companies often do this, but it's not important if the job offer isn't likely.

It was kinda weird. I applied via a recruiter, and the whole thing took about a month. In total, I had 4 phone interviews, including the initial recruiter screen. After each one, I wasn't sure how I did, though I felt I did well, they were really secretive. After the last phone interview, they brought me to Highland for the final interview. I did a 20-minute technical presentation, something I hadn't done in ages. I think I nailed it. Then, I met with a bunch of different people who talked about how I'd fit the role and the company's values. Each manager had a different idea of what made someone a good fit. My scheduled interviewer bailed, didn't seem to value my time. I went to lunch with my potential direct report, who showed me around town and all the cool spots. I figured that was a good sign. After a week of silence, I contacted the recruiter. She told me the company was going in a different direction. No feedback, no word from them, nothing. Super weird.

It was a draining interview process. After completing four phone interviews over a month, I was invited to an in-person interview at their Illinois office. I had to prepare and deliver a presentation on a technical product or service. The interview day involved a full schedule with HR, my presentation, and multiple follow-up interviews, totaling eight conversations with different team members. A major challenge was the inconsistent questioning and differing ideas of a good fit from the interviewers. The VP spent only about five minutes with me, seeming quite annoyed, and ended our chat abruptly after stating that Basler is a conservative company and he doubted my suitability. At the end of the day, HR provided a debrief on their policies and benefits. I felt exhausted, confused, and uncertain about my performance. Honestly, I realized this wasn't the right place for me.

Had a really nice chat, the atmosphere was great and the people I spoke with were wonderful. We used MS Teams for the interview. It started with introductions from both sides, then they described the position and its requirements. The people I spoke with were not only knowledgeable but also very emotionally intelligent. I highly recommend Basler.
