Research and Development
The interview process was pretty cool and focused on behavioral questions, project management, design development, and research and development. They also asked about hobbies and if I was willing to relocate with accommodation and could work 40 hours a week.
- Can you tell me about a project you worked on recently?
- Could you describe your experience with project management?
- Tell me about your experience in design development.
National Account Manager
First there was a phone screen, then I talked to the hiring manager. After that, there were almost 5 hours of STAR interviews spread out over the week with different people. It felt pretty repetitive. You need to have your references ready because they will ask for them.
- Tell me about a time you disagreed with a leader in your company.
Sales Manager
The interview process had three rounds after the initial recruiter call. The interviews were supposed to be 'Targeted Selection' which is based on past behavior predicting future actions. I interviewed with the current Regional Manager, the Divisional Manager, and the VP of Sales. All three interviewers used a script, making it feel impersonal. After the scripted questions, the first two interviewers asked more personal questions about personality, team fit, and adaptability. The VP was very direct and stuck strictly to his script.
- Can you share an example of a time you dealt with an unhappy customer regarding a product you sold? What steps did you take to resolve the issue, and did you manage to keep their business?
Process Engineer
I had an interview with their recruiter in California to start things off. Then, I spoke with the hiring manager and another Process Engineer. Following that, I interviewed with a few folks around the plant and then with HR. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job, but I was really impressed with how the Recruiter took the time to let me know personally rather than just sending a generic email.
- The recruiter asked mostly behavioral questions.
- The last part of the interview process used the STAR method.
