& Process

The interview process was straightforward and easy. Although I was quite nervous, I was offered the position. The interviewers were very pleasant, and I would recommend this opportunity. Overall, it was a positive and simple experience.

The interviewer joined late and rushed through the questions. They didn't give me time to ask my own questions and never followed up on the interview status. It wasn't a welcoming experience and I didn't feel like they were interested in me; it felt impersonal.

The interview involved a technical screen focusing on SQL development. They asked about database architecture and different types of backups (full, differential, t-log), and the importance of differential backups. We also discussed tools for monitoring Windows level resources and hardware, specifically Perfmon counters. They asked about issues I've faced in my experience, particularly concerning performance tuning and any SOPs I might have written. Specific technical questions included DBCC and DMV commands, Always On Availability configuration, active-passive cluster setup with IP addresses, t-log architecture, checkpoint, rollback/roll forward, how differential backups work, reasons for log shipping job failures, DB refresh steps, issues in log shipping, and the difference between hotfixes, service packs, and cumulative updates. Finally, they asked how differential backups track changes post-full backup.

Basically I needed a job with healthcare benefits. At the time Bashas offered healthcare benefits to part time workers in the deli. I went to the front end customer service desk and asked if they were hiring. They said check with the deli. I went over to the deli and asked to speak to the manager. She told me she was not hiring. I got her name and called her back in a few days. We chatted for awhile and I told her she wanted to hire me, we both laughed. A week latter I called her back and again told her I would make her life easier and she should hire me. She finally said I should come in and fill out an app. I started the next week at 20 hours a week. About a year later she made me ft and her lead clerk.
