Everything was done online for the application process. I tried calling but they put me into the hr’s voicemail, and I never heard back. It was lengthy to get started and there wasn't a lot of communication with the hiring hr manager. I went through multiple rounds of interviewing, both remote and in-person.

The interview process was straightforward and honest. They seemed really interested in the candidate they were considering. During the chat, they wanted you to be yourself and talk about who you are and how you see yourself in the role with them going forward. Everyone gets to know the other departments in some way. That's just how they do things.

They started by emailing me for salary expectations, which felt a bit off since we hadn't talked yet. The first interview was a 'get to know you' chat and went fine. They mentioned a salary range lower than what was advertised, but then they fixed it. A week later, I had a second interview with a few developers, which was pretty technical and seemed to go well – I felt I answered most questions correctly. They said they'd get back to me by the end of the next week. When that week passed, I followed up and was told they were busy and would have an answer by the end of the week after that, which was two weeks after the second interview. After that, I never heard from them again.

The virtual interview was professional. They mixed in behavioral and technical questions about things like cloud technologies. It seemed a bit unusual though, that they expected a Software Director to actually write and push code, even for emergencies, and that the role only involved managing two people.

  • Can you tell me about your experience with containers?
  • Could you elaborate on your experience with cloud technologies?
