Had a first call with HR, then a few days later, a chat with the hiring manager. We discussed what you did in your previous role and how effective you were. Typical strengths and weaknesses questions came up. Relevant experience was also an important topic. It was more of an acceptance...

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I had a contact who was a screener, not involved in hiring at all, but was my only point of contact. The company seemed really excited and interviewed me all the way up to the VP of Sales. Even the VP seemed excited during the interview, but the problem was figuring out where to place me. When we discussed available positions, I realized the job advertised didn't actually exist yet; they were hoping to grow the business to the point of creating it. I was way overqualified for everything else. Since they couldn't hire me without creating the job due to the expense, I literally heard nothing back. No responses to my follow-up requests, no courtesy call after all the excitement of shotgunning me through extensive interviews in a short period. Not even a response to my email and phone inquiries after they projected such excitement about getting me in front of all the "right" people. They took each interview and extended it by over an hour past the expected time, asking if they could bring more people down, saying the fit was perfect, etc. Then POOF! Nothing. A very young and aggressive company. They look like they'd be fun to work for, but their professionalism with outside professionals needs a lot of work. They need to remember it's a small world; that same person might end up working for a direct customer or a reseller who makes decisions. We all remember...

So, pretty standard interview process. After they reviewed my application, I had a phone interview with a recruiter. It was mostly questions about my past jobs. Then, I went in for an in-person interview where I met with three managers and the director of renewals. They asked things like how my experience would help me in the role, and what I'd do if a customer rejected me. Finally, I got a take-home assignment to complete and send back to the managers for their final review.
