It was a really easy process, just a quick phone screen followed by an in-person interview with the manager that lasted about 30-45 minutes. They were upfront that they'd get back to me in about a week after finishing up with all the other candidates.

I found the job posting on LinkedIn. I arrived 15 minutes before my interview and brought a copy of my resume just in case, though it turned out I didn't need it. The interviewer was also a college student and was really understanding and patient with my responses. We started by discussing my availability and the current openings, which were mostly temporary roles in the cashier, general merchandise, and textbook sections. Since this is a Barnes & Noble at a college, it doesn't have a full inventory; it's mostly college apparel, snacks, and textbooks. Training begins a few days before classes start, and these temporary positions might only last for the 2-3 week student rush. There are no full-time positions unless the store manager approves them.
