I met with 3 really great women for interviews. The goal was to see if my values matched theirs. They really just wanted to know if I was hungry and ready to put in the effort. Basically, they want to see resilience and a refusal to quit. Show them you hustle!

Behavioral Presentation

Found the job on ZipRecruiter. Got a call quickly to schedule the first interview. The first and final interview was with the same person, who was great. The second interview was in person, short, and at the office. Barker Consulting seems very structured in its growth, focusing on direct, face-to-face sales. The second interview explained the weekly structure and the timeline for advancement. The sales role wasn't for me, but the people were nice. The HR person was a bit pushy when I asked to reschedule and when I requested time to consider the offer.

Behavioral Other

The job titles are kind of confusing, like Account Executive Entry Level or Brand Ambassador, but it's really just SALES. They say no TELEMARKETING, but you're supposed to go B2B selling Verizon services to small businesses. The first interview was about 15 mins, and if they thought you were a good fit, the second interview was a whole day in the field shadowing other sales execs, which was basically an unpaid workday. This field interview thing is for both you and the company to see if it's a good match. If you're serious about consulting, this isn't it. I've been in sales before and swore I'd never go back, and I'm not breaking that vow to sell Verizon in the winter. But hey, you can learn from anything. If you do end up interviewing with Barker Consulting, make sure your elevator pitch is perfect. Work on your interview skills and try to avoid companies like this.

The interview was scheduled for 4:15 pm. I arrived on time and waited for about 20 minutes, which was acceptable. I was then called in for what was presented as the second interview. However, I discovered that the role involved door-to-door sales, specifically selling AT&T services to businesses. This was not disclosed when I applied online. Furthermore, there was no hourly wage, with compensation solely based on commission.
