It was a 2-round process, and both rounds were purely technical. The first round focused heavily on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) along with frontend technologies like Javascript and Angular. The second round was more of a System Design interview combined with a Javascript-focused segment.

So the interview process started off pretty formal and professional. But then, after the last interview, it all went silent from their end. I tried following up and put in effort, but got zero feedback or even a response. Because of that, I figured my vibe didn't match theirs, especially on things like respect, getting back to people, and just the whole candidate experience. My advice: expect a formal setup, but don't get your hopes up about hearing back. Barco, a little heads-up message really makes a difference. Quick and clear feedback shows what kind of company culture you have and that you value people's time and effort.

The interview process involved three levels: L1 focused on C++ basics and some advanced concepts, conducted by a lower-experience interviewer. L2 also covered C++ basics and advanced concepts, but was led by a higher-experience interviewer, with little perceived difference from L1. L3 involved managerial questions like 'why do you want to switch?' along with some technical questions. I liked the interviewers and how they assessed concepts. However, I disliked the overall process because I interviewed twice, months apart. Both times, I stated my expectations upfront, but after completing all rounds, they backed off when discussing expectations. This implies a fault on my end when it isn't. They should be direct and state if they cannot meet my expectations, instead of saying they'll get back to me and then not calling.

The interviewers seemed uninterested in hiring and acted overly smart. They'd book your calendar for an hour but end the interview in 10 minutes. If you miss even one question, forget about getting hired. They expect 101% perfect candidates, thinking there's no room for improvement. They'll ask you to write code, and if you do it right, they'll demand you rewrite it in another way and stick to their guns. Interviewing at BARCO is a complete waste of time.
