First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Barcel USA.
National Account Manager
I had a few interviews, including one with the hiring manager and then a panel interview. The questions were pretty reasonable, although it felt a bit pointless because they seemed to have already decided on someone internally before the panel even happened.
- What makes you a better choice for this role than an internal candidate?
Material Handler/Forklift Operator
The interview experience was comfortable and informative. The facility is very clean with top-notch equipment. The manager was easy-going, and they really focus on safety and the integrity of their employees.
- Can you tell me about your experience driving a forklift?
Analyst Junior
The questions were very difficult to answer, but necessary. It's a very well-paid job, so you need to be completely prepared. Everything is online now, the in-person interviews are a thing of the past.
- Academic degree?
- English level?
- Degree?
Marketing Analyst
The application process was really long, so I stopped until a recruiter called me about my interest. She suggested a hybrid position in LA, but I declined because the cost of living would be the same as my current location and I didn't want to relocate. Both positions paid less than my current salary, but I was looking for a better company culture and was willing to work 55-60 hours a week. After speaking with the managers, I was told to complete an exercise for the next round. I generally don't do these, especially when it's clear they are using real data, which is not in Barcel USA's best interest. I told the recruiter my concerns but did the exercise anyway. I also completed extra exercises just in case they ghosted me. They did ghost me, as I waited almost 4 weeks for a response. After I emailed them about the next steps, I withdrew my application from their ATS. If they don't value your time and effort as a candidate and want free consulting, they won't value you as an employee.
- Do not do their interview assignment! They only want free consulting. They will rush you and then never contact you about the next steps. Again, do not do any assignments for free. I cannot stress this enough.
