First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Banyan Tree.
Interviewee
The interviewer was really nice, friendly and chatty which helped me relax. They were a good listener and let me talk even when I knew I messed up an answer. This really showed me what an interview in the hospitality industry is like.
- Can you tell me about a weakness you have?
Reservations Manager
The interview process was very efficient and to the point, without wasting time. I enjoyed the interview and the interaction. I was fortunate to learn about the company. Thank you for the opportunity. Everything made sense.
- What prompted your departure from your last role?
HR Executive
This was a really bad interview experience. The office wasn't set up, so it wasn't a great environment, though they could have found a better spot or prepared more. The hiring manager seemed distracted, checking his phone and watch a lot. He also looked pretty slouched. They didn't have my resume ready and had to ask me for a printed copy, and they didn't even try to print it themselves beforehand. The interview didn't even start on time. Comments like 'the interview ended so early' were made right after I left, which was unprofessional if I could hear them. It would have been better if they stood up to thank me and walked me out. For MANDAI RESORTS: I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the interview process is often the candidate's first impression of the company. As we all know, the Human Resources department plays a critical role in shaping the company culture and setting the tone for how employees are treated and valued.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Content Marketing Executive
I got contacted on LinkedIn and then went for an interview. The interviewer was kinda hard to reach beforehand because they didn't give me the exact location of the meeting (there are two places people work at: Banyan Tree & Banyan Tree Gallery), so I had to go to the wrong spot first and ended up being late and stressed. They seemed fine with it though and said they wished they'd been clearer about the office location before. I also had no idea there was a 1-hour copywriting test on that same day. They should have been more upfront about what the job really involved (they didn't mention it was like 70% copywriting) and the tests included before making candidates travel down.
