The process involved a written part and then an in-person interview. For the written part, I was given a scenario and had to write a success story for the annual report.

I got a LinkedIn message about this job and was first invited to a casual phone chat. After that, there was a formal panel interview. Even though I was contacted out of the blue, the recruiter asked me to prove my qualifications a lot. Before the formal interview, I had to send my resume and cover letter. Then, I was asked to create a one-pager highlighting my experience related to the job description, and they even asked me to revise it. During the interview, they threw in some surprise questions in French to check my language skills, which felt a bit like they didn't trust me. The interview was right before COVID lockdowns started. While it made sense for things to pause, they totally ghosted me afterwards.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I got an interview request from the CEO herself the day after I applied. She conducted the interview over Skype, and it got pretty relaxed, we even turned off the camera. But the whole process felt like she was mining for ideas. She asked me about website improvements and then gave me a timed written test asking how Banyan Global could improve its programs. I guess the next step was a second interview, but after they got my ideas, I never heard back, not even a rejection. It was weird that the CEO was doing the hiring, and the role reports directly to her, no middle manager. The job duties seemed like too much for one entry-level person; normally it's two people at a place like BG. Bad vibes.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online. It took about 3 months from when I first applied to when I signed the contract. There were a few times I thought they had lost interest. It was a panel interview with 4 people. I felt confident but was careful in my answers. The interviewers asked really specific, in-depth questions related to the role. I was ready for it because I had done my research on the company beforehand.
