Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bank of Cardiff.
Inside Sales Representative
Had a group session where they explained the company's business model. It was pretty straightforward. After a short break, there was a 1-on-1. We talked about general resume stuff and my objectives. They asked about typical call volume and any similar work I've done. There were three interviewers, but I can only speak for one. The vibe was professional, honest, and straightforward.
- What is your experience with call volume?
Sales Representative
The interview process started with a 20-minute phone call which led to scheduling an in-person interview. During the in-person stage, I met with two interviewers. The first interviewer focused on my personal background, work ethics, and probed into my past and future aspirations, which I found to be a bit challenging. The second interviewer was much more relaxed, answered any questions I had about the role, and gave me a clear picture of the company's experience and work culture, making it seem like a great place to start.
- Can you try to sell me something?
Inside Sales Representative
The interview process was pretty standard from my experience, though it was a few years ago so I'm not sure if anything's changed. I first applied through a recruiter and had a phone interview with them to gauge if it was worth moving forward. Given my solid sales experience and my goal for a better salary, I proceeded to a face-to-face interview at Bank of Cardiff. This interview was with the person who became my manager and another management team member. It felt fairly relaxed, though some challenging questions about my ambitions and work ethic were asked. I had the chance to ask my own questions afterward and was asked about my potential start date if I got the job.
- Tell me about your five-year plan.
