First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bank Indonesia.
Banker
The whole process took place in a full day. It had tests, a Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD), and a one-on-one interview. The test was a regular aptitude test checking logical thinking. For the LGD, each person got a problem and had to suggest a way to solve it. After everyone shared their ideas, we had to convince the others why our solution was the best to implement. The one-on-one interview was more psychological, asking about how I handle my flaws and what I've accomplished in the past few years.
- What strategies can conventional banks use to compete with digital banks and win over Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha?
- How would you propose a solution for a given problem?
- Can you describe your approach to dealing with personal shortcomings?
Management Trainee
The interview happened online through Zoom, lasting about 45 minutes. They asked a lot of questions about my past work, college, and other activities. It felt pretty chill, not stressful. Right after, there was a group discussion where we didn't have a leader.
- Can you share your experiences leading or managing a team, including any challenges you encountered and how you resolved them, along with the outcomes?
- Describe any obstacles you faced while leading or managing a team and how you overcame them, detailing the results.
- How did you handle the challenges that came up when you were leading or managing a team?
Analyst
The interview process included 4 interviewers: one from HR, and three others from higher levels within the relevant stream (depending on my background). The questions were pretty standard, like telling them about myself, my motivation for joining the company, and they also asked for my thoughts on a current economic issue before wrapping up.
- Could you start by introducing yourself and expanding on the details in your resume?
- What are your reasons for wanting to work here?
- What are your thoughts on the current economic situation?
Banker
The interview process started off poorly with profiling concerns about my religious background. It seemed like there was skepticism towards the sharia economy. During a subsequent interview, the interviewer made a comment comparing my appearance to someone from ISIS, which was quite startling.
- What are your views on Islamic extremism?
- What motivated your decision to study Arabic?
