Data Specialist
I had an interview with the manager and director. It was a 1-hour Teams call where they described the job and the profile they are looking for, the start date, and why they should choose me.
- Tell me about your previous experience.
- What is your motivation for this position?
- Why should we hire you?
Finance Manager
This was a two-month-long hiring process, initially contacted via LinkedIn for a role supposedly in London. It felt deceptive. I spoke with the hiring manager and the person leaving the role. Compensation was brought up early by the hiring manager, which was odd since it was already discussed with the recruiter and they mentioned flexibility. The hiring manager seemed to imply I'd get the job quickly, emphasizing the need for a handover. I was told HR in Spain would follow up with a compensation package and tests within a week. I passed the tests and had a call with HR in Barcelona, but instead of discussing compensation, she asked me to accept a lower salary, which I refused given I'm a single mother and they knew this. Her demeanor changed, and she then asked if I'd relocate to Spain, even though she noted it wasn't required for the role. This felt tyrannical. The hiring manager had indicated this HR person would handle compensation, but the HR person claimed she couldn't as she didn't know London cost of living. It became clear they weren't planning to offer the initially discussed salary or benefits, which were already below market rate, and I even doubted the London location due to the BBVA takeover. The recruiter mentioned it was between me and one other candidate, but the HR person said she had three more to interview, which confused us. I told the recruiter I was disappointed, and while he said I was still a strong candidate, I never heard back and didn't bother following up, having heard enough lies from the hiring manager, HR, and the recruiter. It seemed their main goal was to find the cheapest candidate, making the whole process a waste of time.
- Can you go over your CV with me?
- Would you consider a reduction in your salary?
- Could you tell me about your experience managing people?
UX-UI Designer
The recruitment process involved an HR interview, then an interview with the Lead, followed by a technical test, and finally an interview with the area director. My process stalled after the technical test as I never received feedback, though they kept me in the loop. Weeks passed and they never responded to inform me I didn't get the job. The technical test is based on current design issues, not fictional ones. Don't give away your work for free.

Data Scientist
I was contacted via Linkedin to start the process. The process has a total of 3 stages: - Phone interview with HR: To get to know your profile and experience a bit more - Video call interview with the department director (1 hour): It's based on asking open-ended business questions about different proposed scenarios: delinquency, mortgages, and financial product recommendation systems - Video call interview with the whole department: It's a small department, besides the director there are 3 more employees (all Data Scientists). It's very similar to the second interview, but this one is a bit more technical. After completing the whole process and, as of today, 3 weeks have passed since the final interview, and I still haven't received any feedback. For my part, I sent an email 10 days ago to ask about the process and they haven't answered.
- What are the most influential variables in delinquency?
- How would you verify if a model, for instance, predicting delinquency, is still predicting as well?
- Given the same Gini, would you choose a Neural Network or a Logistic Regression?
