Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Banana Republic.
Operations Lead
I started as an associate and went through 3 interviews. First, I spoke with an assistant store manager. Then, I had an interview with a general manager. My last interview was with my district manager.
- How would you contribute to our company's success?
Operations Manager
First phone screen with recruiting was informative. For the first round of interviews, the hiring manager did not show up and the person that did show up was over 5 minutes late. They did not even ask structured questions and they seemed very stressed and frazzled. It was not a good interview experience.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your connection to bananas?
Operations Manager
I got a message on LinkedIn from a recruiter who sent over the job description and asked if I was interested. I sent my resume, then we had a phone chat. After that, I talked to a change management consultant. I followed up and got a response via email.
- Can you discuss your experience with change management?
- How do you approach project management?
