The whole hiring experience was really smooth and easy from beginning to end. I definitely suggest working there. They were professional, quick, and paid attention to everything, which made the experience great and stress-free.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your skills?
Chief People Officer
The company ghosted me after nearly 15 hours of interviews and presenting an 8-page slide deck. The first interview was cancelled 5 minutes in. I went through three initial 1:1 rounds, a 2-hour call with the CEO, an hour-long presentation, two more 1:1 interviews, a 2:1 interview, and a final round with three Executives. The Chief Customer Officer asked offensive and biased questions, suggesting a lack of diversity in thought or problem-solving approaches, and limited knowledge of HR leadership roles, which is concerning for an HR company. Other interviewers asked reasonable questions. The CEO did not follow-up after my lengthy interview process for a critical role. I didn't even receive a "thanks but no thanks" email. Bambee needs to improve its candidate experience, leadership diversity, and interviewing practices.
- Have you ever been a part of a class action lawsuit?
HR Manager
The interview was onsite at their LA office. Upon arrival, two people greeted candidates at the door. The onsite interview was referred to as a 'hiring event' in the email. Several interviewers were present, and some seemed overwhelmed. I completed three interview rounds, which I felt went reasonably well. My main concern was the lack of response regarding next steps. Even if the recruitment process is overwhelming, they should at least inform candidates if they are rejected. I'm sure they're a growing company facing some recruitment challenges.
- Can you describe your most challenging HR experience?
Business Manager
I'm really disappointed with Bambee. I put a lot of effort into researching them and understanding the role to see how well I'd fit. But within just two minutes of our call, they mentioned the role is fully in-person, which I was aware of. However, they then realized I'm not local and that they don't offer relocation assistance. My location is pretty obvious from my LinkedIn. Given how tough the job market is and how valuable everyone's time is, it would be much better to let candidates know about these limitations upfront instead of wasting their time at the very end.
