I interviewed for a C# engineer job on the Risk Technology team. The first part was a call with HR and then a technical chat with the hiring manager. After that, there were 5 more interviews with different team members. These covered C# and .NET in depth, coding, architecture, my past projects, and my understanding of the industries I've worked in. It was pretty tough, but most interviewers were nice. My biggest issue is that after all that, they didn't give me any feedback since I didn't get an offer. They said it was due to a high volume of candidates, which is a weak excuse after making me do seven interviews and prep for them. If there were really that many candidates, they should have spaced out the interviews instead of doing five back-to-back after the initial two, to save everyone's time. It felt disrespectful.

This was the best interview process I went through this season! The HR team was super responsive and efficient. Everyone I spoke with seemed happy at Balyasny. The whole thing started with an HR screen, then a Hackerrank test. If that went well, there was a 45-minute Zoom chat, and then a 2 hour 35 minute super day. The technical questions were all about statistics, not weird brain teasers.

After a hackerrank challenge, I had 2 technical interviews and 1 HR one. The HR person was super direct, almost like a 90s manager, seemed emotionless. The second technical interviewer was really unprofessional, eating lunch during the interview, which was rude. They didn't explain the question well or give the right info to answer. I couldn't move forward. They tried to end the call, but I asked them to explain the solution. Then they gave the context they missed earlier. I was really surprised by the last technical interview. The technical questions they asked didn't make sense, like they just made them up.

I applied online and a Business Developer reached out for an initial screening call. Following that, I was given an Excel test. While the initial interaction with the Business Developer was professional and positive, their demeanor changed after the Excel test. They initially said they'd provide feedback the following week, but then started ghosting me. I had to follow up twice before they finally informed me they had moved on with other candidates, even though it was clear they had no intention of updating me on the outcome. The whole process took a month and felt like a complete waste of my time.
