Software Engineer
it started with a phone call with a recruiter, then a zoom technical interview where i solved a coding task online — not leetcode, but more of a real-world problem like building an api and sending requests. after that, there was another technical interview, which i didn’t pass.
- Could you plan and write a REST endpoint and associated objects for a Google Calendar system?
- How would you implement log in/log out functionality?
- Implement the functionality to send messages.
Administrative Assistant
It was a face-to-face, informal, one-on-one chat. They asked easy questions, mostly about my availability and if I could work late or very early. We also talked about the duties and responsibilities of the role, and customer service.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- What skills do you possess?
- What experience do you have?
Housing Support
I applied after seeing an ad on Craigslist. They e-mailed me for a phone interview, which was fine. They asked basic questions about my experience. After the phone interview, they asked me to take an online personality test. I took the test on Sunday and was asked to come in for an interview on Thursday. The interviewer seemed like Zach Galifianakis and acted similarly. He led the questions and waited for the right answers. He values punctuality. We went through basic interview questions like strengths, weaknesses, and why they should hire me. They have some scheduling issues; I had to wait because their client appointments were incorrect. He thanked me and said he had many people to interview before sending me away. I think my advanced degree might have been a disadvantage because he prefers people who stay in a position long-term rather than advance.
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
Credit Counselor
I applied online and got a quick 15-minute phone screening within a week. They talked about the basic job duties and what they were looking for. Then, they scheduled an in-person meeting for a week later with two interviewers. They asked a bunch of questions to see if I had experience dealing with stressful situations.
- Can you describe a past challenging experience and how you resolved it?
