The team was really professional but also down-to-earth. They took their time to get to know my background without rushing anything. I liked that they were open about the role, what they expected, and the company vibe. It felt like they genuinely wanted to find someone who was a good fit for the team and for me too. It made a great impression, so I took the job.

I applied on LinkedIn and also reached out to their recruiter, who then set up a Zoom interview with a potential teammate. She was great and asked good questions. It wasn't super hard, but she did cover all the important topics to check me out. Then, I had an in-person interview with the agency President and the Head of Accounts. They focused more on our chemistry and team fit rather than hard skills. Both talks were really inspiring and made me want to join even more.

I was excited for this interview but the ACD I spoke to seemed disengaged. They record interviews on Zoom, which they said was to reduce the number of people you talk to. Even though the ACD seemed uninterested, I felt I interviewed well because I was prepared and answered confidently. I knew others would see her lack of engagement didn't affect my performance. Her attitude was a red flag, especially since she'd likely be my superior. Another red flag was her answer to my question about the agency's values; she said they 'really want to win some Cannes Lions.' This made me question if their focus is on awards rather than the quality of the work. I had to initiate contact for updates from the hiring manager and didn't receive a final decision for about three weeks.

I was disappointed. I was really excited to interview with this agency because I saw so much raw talent there. However, the Zoom interview was off-putting and lacked a human touch. It seemed like the three interviewers weren't interested in the interview. At first, I thought it was just the nature of video interviews, but I had two more interviews later that week with other companies that felt human, engaging, and dynamic. I did receive a rejection note, and I appreciated getting closure.
