It was a straightforward behavioral interview. They asked about my past experience in electronic production and questions about company culture. It was a single stage interview, but I know most jobs have a panel interview.
The whole thing took about 6 weeks and I had 2 interviews. The first one was a phone screen with the hiring manager and two other engineers from the team. They asked me to go over my resume and answer some basic questions to see how my experience matched what they were looking for in the role. The second interview was in person and I met the whole team. This interview part was pretty quick, mainly just reviewing what we talked about in the first interview. After that, they gave me a tour of the facility.
I had one panel interview with a current Industrial Engineer and the Hiring Manager. It included behavioral questions, background questions, questions about my interest in defense, and one technical problem at the end. The interviewers were very kind. They didn't require deep industry knowledge but wanted to hear about my interest and any understanding of manufacturing, especially in the context of defense work.
