The interview process started with an initial chat with the recruiter or head of recruiting. Then, a meeting with the hiring manager followed. After that, there was a discussion with a counterpart from another region, which was all pretty standard. The final part of the process involved a case study presentation. You'll need to get a deck ready, aiming for 25 slides or less, and present to a panel acting as the partner or customer. They intentionally try to throw you curveballs and take you out of your comfort zone during this part. It's really about how well you can think on your feet and handle tough situations. It was challenging, but fair.
Interviews were scheduled well in advance, with a clear structure and completed in a short timeframe. They conducted concrete interviews and provided direct feedback during or after the interview to avoid wasting anyone's time.
The process had 5 rounds. First, a recruiter talked about role fitment, then the reporting manager did too. Next, two rounds were with sales and technical leaders to see how well I could work with them. The last round was a case presentation to a 4-person panel. It was enjoyable and interesting. The recruiter kept me updated on expectations and gave feedback after each round. The panelists were ready and focused on finding someone who really fit the role and culture. For the case round, I got helpful tips on preparation and materials from the company website. Overall, an amazing experience. I accepted the offer and am excited to join Backbase.
