I got a call from someone on the hiring manager's team, even though I wasn't keen on moving to where they are located. It was a phone screen, and the person was super cheerful, almost condescendingly so. They kept explaining stuff I already knew given my profession and experience, which was pretty annoying. The person brought up the idea of doing some freelance work for them, but I passed on that. They also told me to keep applying to other roles (duh). Honestly, it felt like a waste of both our time.
There was one hr call and then 2 personnel interviews. It took them 2 months to make a decision. They showed a lack of communication between HR and the hiring manager. They were very hesitant and unprofessional, as they kept giving me times and dates to call me or get back to me, but they always called 1 to 2 weeks later!
It was short and to the point, covering basic important questions. Upper management was thoughtful in scheduling and in asking my thoughts on things. Overall the interview was less stressful than many and it made me want to work even more with the company.
