Candidate-reported interview process

So, the interview was like 2 hours long. They had me design a whole full stack web app, you know, with react and node.js. Had to do both coding and design the api stuff, like writing the front end and back end code and all that.

First, there was a pleasant call with HR. After about two weeks, they messaged and set up an interview for the very next day. Then came a technical interview, which was pretty tough and lasted almost the full hour (57 minutes). It was a very heavy technical session, and I felt I did okay, maybe average. They asked about mutexes, design patterns, and tons of other things. In the end, they decided not to proceed because of some made-up AI requirement they never mentioned before and isn't in the job posting. I guess it's a compliment they didn't call out my C++ skills as lacking, but it's still a disappointing outcome.

i had a first interview with the technical recruiter and they told me i was gonna go to the next steps but then i never heard back or got any updates after that, even after i followed up.
