The whole process took about an hour. They asked a few standard questions you'd expect, nothing too out there. On top of that, they threw in a couple of questions tailored to the specific area I'll be working in.
The interview was with an HR representative and the direct line manager. It was a very pleasant atmosphere with the usual range of questions (strengths/weaknesses, personal experience, future outlook, willingness to travel, etc.). The company decided against me because I had TOO MUCH experience and my salary expectations were too high (EUR 70,000+ with 8 years of experience, bar exam, and admission to the bar). They then decided on a junior candidate, even though the position was advertised for junior/senior and this was explicitly confirmed during the interview.
I applied on their website and then got an email inviting me for an interview. The department head and an HR person conducted the interview, which lasted about 30 minutes. The questions were pretty standard, the kind you'd find if you searched Google for 'top ten interview questions.' They really focused on how I handle difficult colleagues, asking it in different ways like 'What would a colleague do to really get on your nerves?' I left thinking they must have a real troublemaker there...
