It was a long process with interview slots moved around. I had two interviews and stayed in touch with the company for over a month before we decided it wasn't a fit. The interviewer asked about my current salary even after I had shared my salary expectation. Flexible working was highlighted in the job description, but the interviewer mentioned that 45 hours a week was the typical weekly working time. The company decided not to proceed with me when I stated I would expect to work 40 hours on a regular basis.
I had a 1-hour interview where we discussed my background and interests. They also gave me a case study with a few questions and simple calculations. The interviewer was really helpful and gave me hints when I needed them.
The whole process was pretty clunky, with some HR errors in scheduling the next steps. Each interview had one person, and it covered typical fit/experience questions, followed by a case study on an energy-related topic. After three interviews, I received a standard rejection. My request for feedback went unanswered. It was quite disappointing considering the time I put in, only to get a generic message back.
