I was first contacted by HR over the phone. They asked me how I found out about Aurecon and what I liked about the company, my interests, and my current job situation. After about a month, I got another call to set up an interview. The interview itself felt like a relaxed chat; we discussed the projects they're working on and they asked me questions about the role and my past experience. About a month after that, I got a verbal job offer, and then it took another two weeks to receive the written offer. The whole process was pretty smooth, though I wish it had been a bit faster.
This was a really bad interview, they mostly talked about my past projects and my skills. They didn't really explain why I should work there. It felt like a conversation, but we didn't click. They didn't seem prepared and hadn't even read my resume.
After submitting my application, I was invited to a group interview. There were two sessions, each with about 30 engineers from various fields. We started with a company intro, then moved to a group activity. We were split into groups of 6 and had to do a short presentation at the end. After that, everyone took a break, and then candidates were called in for individual interviews. After the interview, you could leave or stay to network.
