The interview process was basic but it was draining. 5 hours of virtual interviews back-to-back. I spoke a lot with all of the people involved in the hiring process. They all seemed very interested in offering me the role. I ended up getting ghosted for a week, then got an automated email that the role had been filled. I contacted the team about their unprofessionalism and only then was I told that they went with a local candidate just because they were local. I delayed an apartment lease and it created a lot of drama in my life because they were so misleading. I learned my lesson.
The interview was in person, and after that, I had a phone interview with the team lead. Soon after, they called to say they were emailing me the offer. The whole thing took 3 days.
So, the interview had two parts. First, I talked with two project engineers who asked about my past experience and checked my basic knowledge of HVAC and electrical stuff. Then, I had a chat with a manager where we talked more about personal things like my goals and what I want to achieve in this role.
