The manager gave me a tour of the childcare center, showing me the different classrooms. Then, I answered some questions about my personal life and work experience. Lastly, she assessed my comfort level with children by having me spend time with a teacher and four toddlers.
I applied for the job on Indeed and heard back within a few days. The first interview was on the phone and it was pretty chill, the person I spoke with was nice. No curveballs. The second interview was much the same, just relaxed and nothing out of the ordinary.
I had a 1:1 interview for this role. Then I had to do a 2-3 hour observation, but honestly, no one really had the time to observe me. They say they interview for 2-3 hours for lead teacher roles, but I think they might just need someone to cover breaks. The catch is this time isn't paid, not even retroactively. So, basically, you end up working 3 hours for free.
