Ataccama Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

The interviewer was really nice and clearly stated the expectations. HR representative responded very fast and was kind throughout the process. There is a homework you need to complete based on the role you apply to.

The entire interview was a single 3-hour session. We discussed technologies, worked through some math problems, and touched on my personality. After that, there was a straightforward coding task. I was asked to speak in English and explain certain Hadoop technologies. It was a pleasant interview experience.

I had an initial chat with a recruiter from Ataccama some time ago, and it was a bad experience. The recruiter was condescending from the get-go. When I told her my salary expectations, she smirked and said it was unrealistic for Prague and I should do my own market research. Her tone was dismissive and unprofessional. Because of that, I withdrew from the process. Ironically, I later got an offer from another company for more than I asked for. This experience showed me that attitude and respect are as important as job requirements, and Ataccama didn't deliver.
