I spent hours on their take-home project. They didn't give any specs on file types or formatting, and there wasn't a portal to submit it. I sent it via a Dropbox link and got rejected immediately because of the file type. The recruiter then ghosted me when I offered to resubmit in their preferred format. Honestly, there are better companies, but I was a desperate college student looking for an internship.
The recruiter was super nice and always helpful, I was lucky to get them. First up was a phone screening, then a security check, an online assessment, and the final round was a virtual onsite with a tech lead and an engineer. The interviewers were cool and answered questions nicely. They asked about my resume and told me what the job would be like.
I did a coding project, then had 3 interviews: 2 with engineers and 1 with an exec. The exec interview ran over by 15 minutes. Three weeks later, the recruiter finally called, saying I wasn't hired because I'm white (they wanted diversity) and too inexperienced. If I was too green, why interview me? It's racist.
